Hanging vs Round Light Box: Jack Daniel's Panel Compared with the Round Designs

Our double-sided light boxes come in two shapes. Most are round and mount flat on the wall with brackets. The Jack Daniel's box is a hanging panel that dangles from an arm on chains. Both are $66, USB powered and visible from both directions. Here is how to choose.

The Hanging Design

The Jack Daniel's Hanging Double-Sided Light Box shows the Old No. 7 label in white on black. The panel is 185 mm by 243 mm (7.3 by 9.6 inches) and hangs from a black wall-mounted arm on chains. The arm and chains are included. It is listed for home bars, man caves, garages and gifts.

The Round Designs

The round boxes are about 224 mm (8.8 inches) across and 50 mm (2 inches) thick and include wall-mount brackets. Examples are the Ford Motor Co., Coca-Cola and Michelin designs.

How They Differ

  • Look: the hanging panel feels like a pub or tavern sign, and the round box feels like a vintage service sign.
  • Projection: the arm sticks out from the wall, so the hanging box needs clear space around it.
  • Shape: the hanging panel is taller than it is wide, and the round box is a circle.

Which One Is Right?

  1. For a bar corner where people walk past, the hanging style gets attention.
  2. For a narrow hallway, the flat round box is safer because it sits closer to the wall.
  3. For a gift for a whiskey fan, the Jack Daniel's box is the obvious choice.

Mounting Tips

Mount the hanging arm where nobody will bump it and where the chains have room to hang. Keep the USB power source near the arm. Round boxes can be placed at the same height in a row.
