The Octagon Clock + Tic Tac Toe Set: A Gift Guide for Housewarmings and Birthdays

A gift that looks good and gets used is hard to find. The Octagon Clock + Tic Tac Toe Set pairs two of our most popular pieces in one purchase: a watch-style wall clock and a coffee table game that doubles as decor. Here is what is in it and how to customize it.

What Is in the Set

  • The Octagon Designer Wall Clock in black and white, with an octagonal bezel and a black dial
  • A 7 by 7 inch Tic Tac Toe Board with a full set of pieces

The set is $100. Bought separately, the two items come to $124, so you save $24.

The Clock

The clock is 10 inches across and runs on a quartz, silent sweep movement, so the second hand glides without ticking. It needs one AA battery, which is not included. You choose the crown position, either top or right side, which gives the clock its watch look.

The Board

The board is 7 by 7 inches. You choose the board color from Black, White, Brown, Pink or Gold, and the piece color from White, Pink, Blue, Gold, Red, Orange, Green, Purple, Silver, Rose Gold, Matte Black or Yellow. Remove the protective tape before first use.

Who It Suits

  • A new homeowner who needs a wall piece and a table piece
  • A watch lover who also likes game night
  • A birthday gift for someone with a clean, modern style
  • A gift for an office or desk where the clock hangs and the board sits nearby

How to Choose Colors

  1. Look at the room where it will go. Pick a board color that matches the table or shelf.
  2. Use one piece color as the accent, such as gold pieces on a black board.
  3. If you are unsure, choose black and white for the board and a neutral piece color. It is hard to go wrong.

Display Ideas

Hang the clock above a console or desk, and set the board on the coffee table or a shelf below it. The two pieces then read as a matching pair. Our guide on choosing a wall clock size and style helps with placement, and tic tac toe board color combinations shows pairings that look polished.
