Round Double-Sided Light Boxes: Where They Work and How to Mount Them

Our round light boxes are a different kind of piece from a flat sign. They glow from both sides and mount with brackets, so they can stick out from a wall and be seen from either direction. Here is what to know before you pick one.

What you get

The round boxes in the shop are about 224 mm (8.8") across and 50 mm (2") thick, powered by USB. Wall-mount brackets are included, and we build each one so it is ready to use out of the box: plug it in and it lights up. The Teal version has hollow bracket arms that hide the wire.

Where they work

Because they are visible from both directions, a round box suits a spot where people see it from two sides, like a wall that sits near a doorway or a corner of an open room. In a garage or workshop, one on the wall near the bench makes a clear focal point. In an office or lounge, a single box on an empty wall does the job.

Mounting tips

Decide the height first, then mark the bracket holes with a level. Keep the power source in mind, since the box uses USB, and plan how the cord will run. Our guide to powering and placing USB light boxes goes through the options.
